That's The Way Au Lac It!:The One Where Dhru Comes to Town!

A few weeks ago a very important meeting happened, an east coast/west coast thing if you will. For my entire raw food journey, one man has been my leading source, a valuable assest and community leader and most valuable of all, a true caring friend. We have emailed, commented, talked on the phone, texted, twittered, facebooked and talked via forums. I even introduced on of his podcasts by calling him "cuddly"!!!! but never did we actually get to  see each other for a hug.. until now!
I love you Dhru!
The fantabulous Chef Ito set aside a wonderful corner of Au Lac for our meet up. Dhrumil invited a few friends and he brought his own fierce posse, Ms. Courtney Pool and Mr. Ben Tseitlen. Now Imma let you finish, but let me say that this group was beyond cool and Dhrumil really knows how to throw a mixer! :)
I nervously waited for the man himself and when I finally got that hug it was SO big that Dhru lifted me off my feet!  And I think we did a that a few times.. just so good to actually see each other finally!
There were so many good conversations, amazing people and off the hook food items, here is a peek at what went down..the magic of Ito combined with the Dhrumil too live food crew!

What to Eat To Maximize your Vitality

                                                     The Usual Greenery in my Fridge


Ok, so I am mostly a raw food eater. And I feel pretty good most of the time, exercise for many hours at a stretch and overall am healthy (of course, I do have CLL, but you know what I mean!)


What the Heck is That?
My secret to staying raw and feeling satisfied lies in the mysterious glass jars I fill and empty twice a day....my quart of green juice (or red if it's full of beets, red peppers or swiss chard!)
                                                        My Usual Green Smoothie Fix
... and in Jar Number two? Green smoothie of course!
It's pretty simple, heres my basic green juice.. inspired by Dr. Oz's blend.

Handful or two of spinach
one small lemon unpeeled
1 inch of fresh ginger
1 cucumber
1 apple
handful of pea sprouts
handful of sunflower sprouts
3 stalks of Celery
Any Greens: romaine, collards, dino kale about a fistful
Red bell pepper (I love pasilla peppers too, gives it a spicy kick!)
1/2 a bunch of italian parsley
Juice and enjoy!

Last night I made a green smoothie for dinner and here is what it had in it:

handful of baby spinach
1/2 a fresh mango
1 cup almond milk (homemade)
1/4 cup hemp seeds
handful of ice
one banana
1/2 cup water
few drops of Sweetleaf Stevia
1/2 cup strawberries
1-2 Tbls coconut oil
Blend and feel the love going down!
Blended or juiced veggies and fruit are easier to digest and offer a huge amount of the good things you need to thrive and enjoy vitality!
