Champagne Real Food Tulsa Style Anyone?

The most wonderful thing happened to me the other day. I won a prize! Not just any old prize, oh no my friend, the amazing Penni Shelton of Raw Food Tulsa gifted me with her superb new RawSolutions e book.

I got inspired to make Penni's Champagne Vinagrette and her orange avocado mixed greens salad, both from Rawsolutions.
Here are the raw materials for the dressing:

For the Champagne Vinagrette, so simple, yet so yummy! I doubled the amount of shallot called for so it came out very zesty and a lovely shade too..

This whipped up so quickly, then I dumped my spring mix and sunflower sprouts in the bowl..

added a tangerine (sub for the orange) and a nice organic Hass Avocado, the dressing and some hemp seeds and VIOLA' dinner is served!

A Passion For Fruit

Oh thank heaven for friends with fruit... take these gorgeous beauties of juiciness... fresh grapefruit from my dear friend Senya.. and today, I was gifted with these amazing orbs of passion, yes, passion fruit, right off the vine. Thank you Kimberly!
  Sam is always ravenous after school and the passion fruit inspired this smoothie.. no, she did not finish the entire thing, but she did say it was tasty!

Sam's Lick Smackin' Berry Piney Smoothie

1 cup frozen raspberries

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

2 cups water

1 1/2 T. raw almond butter

1 Tsp vanilla

Blend till delicious!

and as for the fruit of Passion...? First off, you should know that is more of a husk with a ton of seeds inside and a tangy.. well, indescribable juice.. here is one go at it:

 'The unique flavor is appealing, musky, guava-like and sweet/tart to tart. The yellow form has generally larger fruit than the purple, but the pulp of the purple is less acid, richer in aroma and flavor, and has a higher proportion of juice (35-38%).'

The juice/seed is from one Passion Fruit, which I juiced along with 8 small tangerines.. the result?

A frothy, tangy very refreshing glass of Passionate sweetness! I Like! and Sam?

She gave it the old third grade try.. pronounced it not for her.. but that's ok, I gladly drank it all.

Friends are the sweetest fruits of life, are they not?
