ACT Up and Shake your Groove Thang Baby!

Help! Your Lymph System Needs YOU!

Ok if you are on the ACT cleanse or even if you are not... are you moving what your Momma gave you? Are you breaking a sweat, dancing to the oldies, got your butt on the mat daily?

If you want to take out the trash via your lymph system, you MUST move your booty!  Lymph does not have a pump  like your blood does(your ticker), it needs you to put one foot in front of the other and motate!  Here is a cute video that explains the entire system, only a few minutes long, but very informative!

You don't have to run a marathon or climb Mt. Everest to make a big difference in the way you feel and look. Try do ten minute short sessions, take a few flights of stairs, walk during your breaks, do some nice slow stretching before bed. Increase the time by a few minutes a week and before you know it, you will be getting 30- 60 minutes of day of grooving moving!

Check Your "Tato" Status!
If you are telling yourself "I don't have time!", take a look at your TV time.. umm hummm, like I said, 30- 60 minutes a day is otptimal, but just start with ten minute sessions, as detailed HERE in this article for NPR.

What should you do to get your groove back? Here are a few suggestions:

1. Walk: Free, easy, fun and social, walking is the best thing to do when you only have a few minutes. Want to run? Just start adding 2 minute jogs every 5 or 10 minutes of walking.
Take a Walk! Cross Dressing Optional!

2. Dance Like a Maniac: This requires privacy if you want to dance naked, otherwise, this too can be a social exercise. Do whatever you like, just dust off that ipod, cd player or tune in the radio to the songs you love best. I love the B 52's, good old 70's funk and Disco and Cornershop. Find out what floats your boat and turn it up! You will be surprised how good you feel!

3. Get Your Butt On the Mat
Yoga is just a wonder drug. You can rent dvds at the library or do what I do and get them second hand at thrift stores and garage sales. Rodney Yee is a fav, just look at him!
Wow Mr. Yee! Twist Into a Pretzel with Yoga

Start out slow, increasing your depth of pose as your flexibility increases. If you have FitTV from Direct TV they have several yoga shows daily, as well as other great exercise shows.

4. Qi Gong A Restful Stretch for Health
If yoga is beyond your reach, Qi Gong will be just your cup of tea then. Slow, easy moves add up to major pain relief and flexibility for you, not to mention it is the BEST thing to do right before you hit the sack. Check out a book at the library or use this guide from Dr. Oz's site HERE.

5. Rebound, Rebound, HEY!
I love to rebound so much that I even wrote an article about it! You can read it
HERE.
Try to use your mini tramp through out the day, one of my Fit Club pals put it where she had to get on it all day to get across the room, what a great sneaky exercise!
I use hand weights while I watch trashy TV shows or listen to my favorite tunes. Pod-casts on an ipod are great too. If you don't want to use weights, try to make sure you get your arms going too and get them over your head if you can, raises your heart rate and yes, moves that lymph baby!!!
You Don't Have to be A Lord to Jump Around!

You can find a rebounder for under 40.00 HERE or again, garage sales and thrift stores have them regularly!

Hate to be so cliche, but really, JUST DO IT!
